Description
:
[The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra’s “Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra” is a coupling of masterpieces for string orchestra, both of which are imbued with folkloric colors and romantic lyricism. Sir Colin Davis was appointed Chief Conductor of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1983, a position he held for ten years until 1992. During this period, he made many recordings, including this one. Davis’ purely musical approach to the string section of this orchestra, which boasts one of the finest ensembles in Europe, brings out an exquisite performance that is both dignified and elegant. Rubidium clock cutting. [Performed by] Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Conductor: Sir Colin Davis Recorded: October 1986 (1), January 1987 (2) in Munich (digital recording)
