W.D.O. 2019 concert live recording, featuring Hisaishi Melody with two major suites from “World Dreams” and “The Witch’s Delivery Service” premiering in 2019. Symphonic Suite “Kiki’s Delivery Service”: This is the first symphonic suite from “The Witch’s Delivery Service,” a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki released in 1989. The soundtrack was originally written with the aim of creating a light European sound, but Joe Hisaishi himself reworked it into a suite that allows the listener to relive the world of the film. Woman] for Piano Harp, Percussion and Strings: Three pieces from the album “Another Piano Stories” are reborn as a trilogy [Woman] for piano, string orchestra, harp and percussion. Suite “World Dreams”: “World Dreams” was composed in 2004 as the theme music for the World Dream Orchestra (W.D.O.), and two original pieces commissioned in 2019 (“Diary” from NTV’s “Imperial Diary” and “Driving to Future” from the main theme music for the Aisin AW’s 50th Anniversary Driving to Future” from the main theme song of Aisin AW’s 50th anniversary project video), and recomposed into three movements. This work is the realization of Hisaishi’s long-held plan to create a suite of World Dreams.
