This is the soundtrack of Goro Miyazaki’s latest work, Studio Ghibli’s first 3DCG feature animation “Arya and the Witch” [broadcast on December 30, NHK General]. Arya and the Witch” tells the story of Arya, a young girl who grew up not knowing she was the daughter of a witch, but one day she is taken in by a strange house where she ends up living with a mean witch. Based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, the famous author of “Howl’s Moving Castle”. Director Hayao Miyazaki also participated in this film as a project. Director Goro Miyazaki, who has used impressive songs and artists for “Gedo Senki” and “From Up on Poppy Hill,” along with Satoshi Takebe, who is in charge of music, produced the song for this film as well. For the theme song and ending theme, Sherina Munaf, a nationally popular Indonesian singer-songwriter and actor with over 10 million followers on Twitter, has been selected. She will sing the theme song “Don’t disturb me” and the ending theme song “Atashi no Sekai Kaiketsu”. In addition, a special unit led by Satoshi Takebe, who was in charge of music for the play, will perform these songs. (C)RS
