To celebrate the first visit to Japan by Vladimir Jurowski & the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which is sure to be one of the biggest topics in the classical music world in 2017, we are releasing LPO Live recordings! The sixth release is Mahler: Symphony No. 1 “Titan”! The sixth release is Mahler: Symphony No. 1 “Titan”, the most frequently performed of Mahler’s 10 symphonies, and brings a breath of fresh air to this work. The five-movement work, including the second movement and the “Flower Chapter,” is performed at a dashing tempo that is typical of Jurovsky and brings catharsis to the audience. (C)RS
