The second collection of Aialand’s complete piano works features “Sarnia-Island Scenes,” which describes the landscape of the island of Guernsey (Sarnia), where the composer moved in the 1930s. The “Sea Pastoral,” composed when he was a student, had been put away for a long time because he was not satisfied with the quality of the work. This album is the first complete recording.
