[Originale Series] The “Sounds of the Times” of Bach and Mozart. Long-awaited re-release of rare original instrumental performance recordings by Teldec, Erato, former Virgin Classics and former EMI! Selected performances on original instruments. Original jackets used whenever possible. The Hilliard Ensemble, the world’s greatest chamber vocal group, sadly disbanded at the end of 2015. The group performed mainly medieval and renaissance music to the former EMI, and its fame as an old music ensemble spread worldwide with its success since the 1980s and many recordings from the former EMI. This album is almost their last recording for the former EMI, and is a very rare recording of unaccompanied Romantic choral works. ●First domestic release ●Includes commentary, lyrics, and bilingual translation ●Date of recording: September 1989
