[Schiff/Beethoven Masterpieces on SHM-CD] To celebrate András Schiff’s visit to Japan, the complete Beethoven piano sonatas recorded between 2004 and 2007 are being re-released on SHM-CD at a reduced price! The complete sonatas, which were recorded live (except for Vol. 8) with such a high degree of perfection that they could not be considered live recordings, have fascinated fans around the world, and have been highly acclaimed worldwide, winning the prestigious Italian Abbiati Award, as well as the Record Academy Award in Japan. For this achievement, Schiff was made an honorary member of the Beethoven House in Bonn in 2006. Schiff says that by recording the complete sonatas in chronological order of composition, one can experience how Beethoven continued to make new discoveries and changes right up to the very end.
