Shinji Mori, who celebrated his 45th anniversary as a drummer in 2017 since his debut at the age of 18 as the rhythm keeper of the Sadao Watanabe Quartet, recorded live a Christmas session on December 24 and 25, 2017, at “CASK” in Kibogaoka, Yokohama, with the talented Hon Akira Kasahara on bass and Vladimir Shafranov on piano. Live recording of the Christmas session held on December 24 and 25, 2017 at “CASK” in Yokohama, Japan. The performance was a heated and serious contest, with no prior sound checks or meetings, and Shafranov’s melodies were instantly responded to. Four stages over two days at Christmas were condensed into 100 minutes, making this an outstanding 2-CD set. This album uses MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), a 24-bit sound recording on CD developed by Medillian in the U.K. The CDs can be played back on ordinary CD players, as well as on CD players. In addition to playback on ordinary CD players, it is possible to playback the CDs in 176.4 MHz, 24-bit sound using MQA-compatible equipment.
