Two great masters of classical music, a dream collaboration! Seiji Ozawa & Mito Chamber Orchestra’s 4th Beethoven Series In May 2017, the Mito Chamber Orchestra’s 99th Subscription Concert was held at Art Tower Mito, with Martha Argerich as the invited guest, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1, conducted by Seiji Ozawa Both two concerts were Both concerts were sold out, and the packed audience gave the two maestros a standing ovation for their overwhelming performance. Argerich and Seiji Ozawa also performed together at the 2015 Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival. On that occasion, they performed Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy at the Seiji Ozawa 80th Anniversary Concert. The two have performed together ever since. After the concert in Mito, they performed the same program at the Beppu Argerich Music Festival. Symphony No. 1 was recorded live at the 98th subscription concert of the Mito Chamber Orchestra in January 2017. Seiji Ozawa’s powerful conducting draws a lively performance from the orchestra.
