Originally a fierce saxophone band of three saxophone stylists, Dave – Joe Lovano – Michael Brecker, who each had their own image of Coltrane, Ravi Coltrane, son of John Coltrane, joined the band after Brecker’s death. After Brecker’s death, John Coltrane’s son, Ravi Coltrane, joined the band, and in 2019, the new Saxophone Summit was born, with the prodigious Greg Osby replacing Ravi! Support is provided by the centurion trio of Phil Markowitz (p), Cecil McBee (b), and Billy Hart (ds). The work of the most powerful Coltrane tribute band by Dave Liebman, a leading Coltrane researcher! Commentary included.
