John Williams, a famous guitarist, said, “In Venezuela, a unique and vibrant music was born from a fusion of the traditional music of the indigenous people, the music of the Spanish who invaded the country, and the music of the Africans who were brought to Venezuela as slaves. From the late 19th to the mid-20th century, Venezuelan composers wrote a great deal of distinctive guitar music with light rhythms and ethnic elements, which became widely popular.
