Mahiru Koda a.k.a. Mappy is a 16-year-old (as of April 2018) jazz pianist who loves Bud Powell and is a fashionista with 150,000 Instagram followers worldwide as Mappy. She made her major debut on the eve of her 17th birthday. PLANKTON” is a jazz piano trio album with a focus on bebop. The album features jazz star Shun Ishiwaka on drums and King Gnu bassist Kazuki Arai on bass. Included in the album are classic songs by Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk such as “Cleopatra’s Dream,” “Ruby My Dear,” and “Un Poco Loco Loco,” as well as two original songs by Mahiru Koda.
