Twenty years after his death, the composer Toru Takemitsu (1930-96) has not lost his luster and continues to move the hearts of those who listen to his works. Takemitsu loved the guitar in particular, and it is said that he always had a guitar in his composing room. Not being confined to the framework of a guitarist, Takateru Fujimoto began to reveal his unfathomable talent. He plays his works as a tribute to his predecessor, who left such an enormous mark on the world. The album includes all of Toru Takemitsu’s solo guitar works and a duet with his close ally, the renowned Hiroshi Kogure. The duet version of “Waltz” arranged by Takateru Fujimoto himself is also a must-hear.
