[John Coltrane’s 95th Anniversary Special Price Limited Edition] To celebrate the 95th anniversary of the birth of the most charismatic man in jazz history (born on September 23, 1926), the release of previously unreleased live recordings, and the 60th anniversary of the founding of his Impulse label, we are reissuing a limited edition of his classic and rare recordings at a special price. Re-released in a limited edition. Miraculous sound sources unearthed 55 years after recording. This is an official session recorded on March 6, 1963 at Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey with the golden quartet of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones. The session took place the day before the recording of the classic album “John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman,” and is a truly historic legacy that captures the quartet in its fullest form! Although the session was recorded, it has never been released to the world, including pirate recordings. Of the 7 master takes (approx. 47 min.), Tracks 1 and 3 are original, previously unreleased Coltrane compositions. In addition, two of his best-known songs, “Impressions” and the jazz standard “Nature Boy,” were recorded in a rare trio configuration without McCoy Tyner on piano.
