Jneiro Jarel, known for his work with artists such as MF Doom, Thom Yorke, Damon Albarn, and Bad Bad Not Good, is back with a new release from FAR OUT RECORDINGS, one of Europe’s leading producers of Brazilian music! Jarel’s longtime love for Brazilian music has blossomed with the support of FAR OUT, and his new album is a superb instrumental/breakbeat album. The band is a Brooklyn native, but a nomadic artist. Jneiro Jarel, a Brooklyn native known for his nomadic nature, recorded “After A Thousand Years” in New York, New Orleans, Miami, and Costa Rica. According to Jarel, the theme of this album is “the culmination of many years of musical contributions to the African diaspora. Jarrell has long been an admirer of Brazilian music and Latin jazz, as well as jazz, soul, and funk. Jarrell says that the African people and their music, which had a great influence on the formation of the music of the Americas, were key to the production of this album. The lead single, “Banana Peel,” is a genre-categorizable track that emerges from Jarrell’s perspective. The song blends the swing of Jarrell’s native New Orleans jazz, the rainforest-inspired energy of Costa Rica, and influences from Jarrell’s vast collection of Brazilian records.” The same goes for “Viberian Waves 1&2,” a nice tune that transitions from elegant, jazzy instrumental hip-hop reminiscent of Velocay to a bossa-esque percussive jam. The album also features a number of other great musicians, including legendary multi-instrumentalist Bill Summers, known for his work with Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, and Eddie Henderson; and Malawian-American guitarist Masauko Chipembere, known for his work with the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, among others. Chipembere, a Malawian-American guitarist known for his work with the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA and others. The ensemble’s light, sparkling ensembles and energetic beats, created from a grand perspective, will make people of today’s world go wild for this album.
