Groovy Christmas by jazz organist Jimmy Smith! In the 1960s, Christmas albums by major artists were released one after another, and this Christmas album by Jimmy Smith (1964) also appealed to both jazz fans and Christmas album collectors. The orchestral performance featuring winds, percussion, and harp gives the impression of a huge firework display, as if the cold weather is blowing away in rapid succession, rather than the image of a sombre Christmas night. The album was reissued with a new title and jacket in 1966, but this time the original title has been retained.
