In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Charles Mingus’ birth, we are reissuing 8 titles on UHQCD, carefully selected from his masterpieces and rare recordings on CD for the first time in Japan! This is a live recording of the legendary concert held at Town Hall in New York City in October 1962. The large band of about 30 members included Eric Dolphy, Jackie Byard, Danny Richmond, and others who were regulars in the Mingus Band, and the participation of Zoot Sims and Toshiko Akiyoshi is also notable. This is the first CD release in Japan. (C)RS
