:
[Encore Press: The Art of Arthur Grumiaux] Grumiaux recorded the famous E minor concerto four times, including an EMI recording in 1946, but the recording here is his fourth and final recording in 1972. This is the only recording of the concerto in D minor. Grumiaux’s qualities as a melodist are fully utilized in this recording, and the orchestra accompanies the soloist who sings each note with great care, creating a superb ensemble. [Performed by] Arthur Grumiaux (violin), New Philharmonia Orchestra, Jan Krentz (conductor)
