The live performance of Aretha Franklin, one of the most famous female singers of the 20th century, at New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in L.A. on January 13 and 14, 1972, has been restored as a CD. This now legendary LIVE was first presented on LP, but this release is an unedited documentary of the two days of LIVE, remastered and recorded in its entirety. The film features Cornell Dupree (g), Chuck Rainey (b), Bernard Purdy (ds), Ken Rapper (org), Pancho Morales (perc), and the “Southern California Community Choir,” backed by Aretha’s father, a pastor, and his roots in the “gospel” music of the “gospel. The “Southern California Community Choir” sings “Gospel” with a moving performance.
