Alexander Panfilov, a young pianist born in Moscow in 1989 and now based in London in 2018, began music lessons at the age of six, and after attending the Gnesin Conservatory, he studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow under the tutelage of Andrei Diveh From 2012 he began He studied in England and won prizes in numerous international competitions, most notably the 58th Haen International Piano Competition in 2016, where he impressed the world by winning the Grand Prix. In this album, released to commemorate his victory, he performs Debussy’s exciting “Prints” and his new work for the competition, “Anamorphosis,” with its many exotic sounds reminiscent of gamelan, and the Spanish-inspired “Port.
