[EAST WIND MASTERS COLLECTION 1000] Recommendation for Adult Jazz! The best recordings on the EAST WIND label for only 1000 yen (excluding tax)! East Wind, Japan’s world-class jazz label, started in 1975.” To celebrate the label’s 40th anniversary, the entire catalog is being reissued in a limited 1000 yen edition. This is the first release in 13 years for the series, and uses DSD remastering. Terumasa Hino, who came to the U.S. in 1975, recorded this Japanese-inspired work in New York. The title track is composed of five parts, with Hino’s well-sung trumpet, Cecil McVie’s tenacious bass, and the polyrhythmic rhythms tapped by his brother Motohiko Hino intertwining beautifully to create a richly expressive Japanese world. <Terumasa Hino (tp, flh, per), Cecil McVie (b), Motohiko Hino (ds, per), M. Tume (per) Recorded May 18, 19, 23, 1976 in New York.
