Description
:
This is a duo work spun by Shoyuki Akedagawa, who is also the leader of Aketa’s Disk, with Hiroshi Hatsuyama. The sentimental “Twilight in Nojiri,” composed by Aketagawa, and the exotic “Miyazaki Thousand and One Nights Eros,” composed by Masako Miyazaki, are both large works, each exceeding 19 minutes in length. Hatsuyama plays harmonica and vibraphone on “Twilight in Nojiri” and vibraphone on “Miyazaki: One Thousand and One Nights and One Night Eros. Unabashed lyricism and an overwhelming sense of power. This is Japanese jazz. This is Aketa’s jazz. (C)RS
