East Wind, Japan’s world-class jazz label, started in 1975.” To celebrate the label’s 40th anniversary, the entire catalog is being reissued in a limited edition for 1000 yen (excluding tax). This is the first release in 13 years for the series. It has been 13 years since the shocking debut “Portrait of Sheila” (Blue Note), and this is the first major work by the artistically inclined singer Sheila Jordan. With a group of like-minded friends, she sings “My Favorite Things,” the title track from her beloved Charlie Parker, and other songs in her own unique way. Winner of Swing Journal’s Jazz Disc Award [Production Planning Award], the album was remastered in DSD and recorded July 12 & 13, 1975 at Vanguard Studios in New York City.
