Description
Cover Notes: Miles Davis’ quintet was formed in 1955 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest combos in jazz history. Miles was recording for a small jazz label, Prestige, that didn’t have a wide distribution, but after his success at the 1955 Newport Jazz Festival, he received a substantial offer from the recording giant Columbia. ‘Round About Midnight’ was Miles first album for this company, and he titled it after the Thelonious Monk tune that had earned him such great success at Newport.
