Description
Yellow Days is the stage name of British singer-
songwriter George van den Broek, known for his
soulful, raspy voice and melancholic, genre-
blending sound that fuses indie rock, R&B and lo-fi
soul. Emerging in 2016 with his debut EP,
‘Harmless Melodies’, he quickly gained attention
for emotionally raw lyrics and introspective
storytelling. His music often explores themes of
love, loss and mental health, delivered with a
haunting yet warm vocal style that sets him apart
in the contemporary indie scene.
Yellow Days’ new album, ‘Rock and a Hard Place’,
is a tour de force which sees him returning to his
soul roots, channelling everyone from Stevie
Wonder to Gil Scott-Heron to his idol Ray Charles
in a set of emotionally-charged songs constructed
with an attention to detail worthy of the Brill
Building.
