2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s death. Piazzolla’s achievements in creating a unique style that fused tango with classical, jazz, and contemporary music idioms, and creating a worldwide boom, have been increasingly appreciated in recent years. This album is a sequel to “Tango Nuevo,” which, like this one, was recorded by Kotik and Tao and released in 2013 and became a hit. Kotik and Tao use a variety of means to arrange the songs, and some songs feature double bass, percussion, and vocals, giving the album a more diverse sound than its predecessor. The arrangement of the well-known piece “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” has a new feel to it.Naxos Japan
