Cover Notes: ‘Monkey Mind” is the new album from French-American duo Pearl & The Oysters, produced by Jonathan Rado. Though sunny on the surface, the album was written and recorded in the wake of the devastating LA fires of 2025 and Trump’s second inauguration. ‘Monkey Mind’ is named after the Buddhist concept of a restless, looping consciousness – the duo drew on their own ‘monkey minds’ to write the album in a matter of weeks, using music as a way to process their worry.
