This is the first collection of small pieces by violinist Mayuko Kamio, winner of the violin section of the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007. The program includes well-known pieces that everyone knows, small pieces that make full use of Kamio’s unique superb technique, and Russian music pieces full of beautiful and sad “songs,” allowing the audience to enjoy the violin’s various charms to the fullest. The program will be performed by Miroslav Krutyshev, pianist and Kamio’s partner in both public and private life, in a studio session in Berlin in August 2014. (C)RS
