Marika Hiraga, a talented vocalist representing the Japanese jazz scene, reconstructs standard numbers representing the 1930s and 40s. This concept album challenges “Golden Age classics” by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Matt Dennis, and others, and tackles the selected 12 songs with innovative ideas. With collaboration with Hakuei Kim on piano at the core, she will form a new unit with Tomokazu Sugimoto (b) and other high-profile up-and-coming musicians to work on recordings – live performances.
