Chamber music is a small, finely honed ensemble that requires the talent of each player, a sense of musicality and creativity in the same direction, and sometimes even compromise. The woodwind quintet is a genre that presents many challenges to composers, especially in terms of different timbres, various playing techniques, and differences in the characteristics of the different instruments. In the 20th century, some composers such as Tufanel and Nielsen began experimenting with quintet compositions, and inspired by this, composers began composing numerous works one after another, as if in competition. This album features two works each from the 20th and 21st centuries. The album features two pieces each from the 20th and 21st centuries, allowing the listener to fully enjoy the innovative and experimental sounds of these works.Naxos Japan
