Description
:
Kazumi Odagiri was a tenor/soprano saxophonist who played in groups with Takeo Moriyama, Ryojiro Furusawa, Takao Uematsu, and others. This is the only leader album left by Odagiri, who passed away in 1980 at the age of only 31. <He was described as “nervous,” “sensitive,” and “a true artist. His phrases, which are released with a tremendous sense of speed and a sharply angled tone, gouge and overwhelm the listener. This fantastic work, which has received enthusiastic support from various quarters, is finally being released on CD. (C)RS
