Believing in a ray of light, the music never stops. New project with piano and string quartet. All arrangements by Hiromi Uehara. The first new work in two years by world-renowned pianist Hiromi Uehara is a new project under the name “Hiromi Uehara The Piano Quintet. This ambitious composition, consisting of piano and string quartet, was first performed at the long-running “Save Live Music Returns” concert at Blue Note Tokyo (December 28, 2020-January 4, 2021), where it received rave reviews from the packed audience. The program includes the four-part suite “Silver Lining Suite,” which was written during the period of restraint from the 2020 Corona disaster, as well as songs from his social networking project “One Minute Portrait,” and past original compositions newly arranged for this project. The string quartet led by Tatsuro Nishie, concert master of the New Japan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, performs with sensitivity and dynamism, giving a fresh sound that is different from her previous works. This work proves that Hiromi Uehara has reached a higher level as a pianist and arranger.Japan pre-release. <Hiromi Uehara: piano, Tatsuro Nishie: 1st violin, Sohei Birman: 2nd violin, Ena Naka: viola, Wataru Mukai: cello Recorded at Studio Tanta, Tokyo, April 28-30, 2021
