Following their acclaimed 2019 debut Knob, Danish jazz duo Svaneborg Kardyb return with Haven, a serene and heartfelt homage to nature, simplicity and homecoming. Across ten tracks, Nikolaj Svaneborg plays keys and Jonas Kardyb is on drums and percussion and they dive into acoustic warmth and subtle electronics for a meditative, melody-rich sound. Written in varied settings from quiet apartments to countryside vistas, the album feels organic and instinctive while evolving from fleeting moments into immersive compositions. The duo is joined by trumpeter Jakob Sorensen to weave gentle grooves, airy harmonies and pastoral ambience into something that feels personal and intimate but also expansive in a way that confirms Svaneborg Kardyb’s place at the forefront of new Nordic jazz.
