Born in Copenhagen, Giese became a violinist in the royal orchestra at the age of 17 and composed his first symphony. However, he received no recognition as a composer, and in despair, he sent the complete score of his First Symphony to Mendelssohn in Leipzig, who gave his blessing, and the work was finally premiered in Leipzig to great acclaim. After his first performance in Leipzig, Goez composed the cantata “Komala” and premiered it to great acclaim. The work was so popular that it traveled from the U.S. to Russia, but unfortunately was forgotten after its premiere. This time, the famous conductor Ekirbey and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra & Chorus have successfully revived the work. It is a beautiful work colored with fresh sensibility.Naxos Japan
