Bridge String Quartet
:
French composer Ibert, known for his “Ports of Call” and “Divertissement,” left many compositions in a wide range of styles, from his early impressionistic works to more light-hearted neoclassical pieces. The main pieces on this album are a string quartet and an esprit-filled “Violin, Cello, and Harp Trio,” both of which were written in a meticulously composed style. The other small pieces are also performed by the Bridge Quartet in a tasteful and masterful manner.
