Anna Hashimoto has won many prizes, including first prize at the Kortrijk International Competition, the highest prize at the Carlino International Competition, and the Best Contemporary Music Prize at the Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Atea Quintet. Anna Hashimoto has already released two solo albums. This album, the first release on FONTEC, is a collection of works by the inimitable clarinetist, who has already released two solo albums and continues to steadily climb to new heights. The aforementioned Horowitz piece and others are highlights of a dynamic performance with a stretch that only she could have achieved. Rikuya Terashima, one of the leading virtuosos from Japan, another of Hashimoto’s roots with whom she has longed to perform, is also a highlight of the album.
