Two great masters, Rainer Küchl and Shinichi Fukuda, are in a dream come true! The world of violin and guitar is woven together in an exquisite way in this SACD hybrid release! Rainer Küchl and Shinichi Fukuda, two great masters of the violin and guitar, have come together for a dream come true! In 2017, Rainer Küchl will be appointed as guest concertmaster of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and his performance opportunities in Japan will continue to increase. Shinichi Fukuda, on the other hand, has been active both in Japan and abroad, giving concerts and judging international competitions, and has already released nearly 90 CD albums, making him literally the master of the Japanese guitar world. The two virtuosos, one on violin and the other on guitar, met and chose to perform works that are known to be difficult to play. The interplay between the superb virtuosity demonstrated by Küchl and Fukuda and their poetic singing in the slow movement produced an overwhelmingly masterful performance. The instrument played by Shinichi Fukuda in this recording is a Gaetano GuadaniniII(1829/Italia-Turin) made in Italy in the 19th century, an instrument with a graceful sound but with a firm footed accent. The Cughill also uses a Gabriel Lembock (1857/Austria-Wien), which brings back the atmosphere of the 19th century, the time when Giuliani and Paganini were active. The recording engineer is Mr. Akira Fukada, who is well known for his many excellent recordings, and he has created a fresh and transparent sound with a solid sound core. This is a SACD hybrid release so that you can fully enjoy the quality of the sound! The liner notes were written by Graham Wade, a British music critic known for his biography of Julian Bream, and are also interesting reading.King International
