Description
Active during the prime years of New York jazz label Strata-East, The Descendants of Mike and Phoebe was one of the various projects on the label spearheaded by bassist Bill Lee. Together with siblings Cliff Lee on the flugelhorn and A. Grace Lee Mims adding enchanting soprano vocals to four of these tracks, the group composed hypnotic works of socially astute spiritual jazz on their only record A Spirit Speaks.
