Cover Notes: Iconic Swedish musician and producer Peter Tägtgren, who has worked with genre titans like Sabaton, Amon Amarth, Dimmu Borgir, Celtic Frost in the past, launched Pain in 1996 as a side project combining electronic with heavy music and try out different soundscapes than his death metal group Hypocrisy would allow for. Being a masterful songwriter, Tägtgren quickly developed Pain further, releasing eight albums until 2016 featuring multimillion streamed tracks like `Shut Your Mouth’, `Same Old Song’, `Follow Me’, `Zombie Slam’, `End of the Line’ and succeeding in a gold award for 2002’s ‘Nothing Remains the Same’ in their home country and over 30 chart entries worldwide. Renowned as a stunning live band, through the past decades Pain’s ingenious mix of catchy hooks, dark, tongue in cheek humour, elements from synth/wave, electro, pop, metal and rock stood the test of time by being addictive, danceable, defiant, unique.
