Her first collection of small pieces projects various nuances on the gems of French piano masterpieces and expresses the world of her works in rich detail. In “Nightfall” (Dusk), the darkness of night falls between day and night. The shifting gradations of blue and the mysterious atmosphere that lurks behind the creeping darkness. Dreams and reality, light and darkness, conflicting images and feelings, and mysterious mental landscapes are spun from the supple fingers of the artist. The album includes such major pieces as “Moonlight,” “Dream,” “Gymnopedie,” “Gnosienne,” and “Pavane for a Late Princess,” as well as the superbly crafted masterpiece “Gaspar de l’Oeil. The album also includes the masterpiece “Gaspard de l’Oeuf”, a masterpiece of superb technique. This is a commemorative disc for his visit to Japan.
